Agentforce 2026

At TrailblazerDX 2026, Salesforce unveiled one of the biggest architectural shifts in its 25-year history. It is called Salesforce Headless 360, and the headline promise is simple. Every capability in the platform is now available as an API, an MCP tool, or a CLI command, so agents and coding tools can use the platform without ever opening a browser.

The announcement landed alongside Agentforce Vibes 2.0 and a wave of new MCP tooling, leaving many Salesforce customers asking the same question. If everything is now headless, where does that leave Agentforce?

What Is Salesforce Headless 360?

Salesforce Headless 360 is an initiative to expose the full Salesforce platform to agents and developers without forcing them through the standard user interface. Salesforce describes it as the capabilities your agents need most, made available as APIs, MCP tools, or CLI commands so humans and agents can build, act, and deliver experiences on any surface. In practice, that means more than 60 new MCP tools and 30 preconfigured coding skills that connect platform data, workflows, and business logic directly into coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Windsurf.

Salesforce groups the launch around three innovations. The first is the new MCP and coding skills layer, which gives developer agents complete, live access to the platform.

The second is the Agentforce Experience Layer, a new UI service that lets a single agent render rich, interactive components such as approval cards, decision tiles, and workflow forms in Slack, Mobile, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Teams, or any other MCP-compatible client.

The third is a set of governance tools, including Testing Center, Custom Scoring Evals, Observability, Session Tracing, A/B Testing, and Agent Fabric, designed to keep agents safe and predictable in production.

Is Headless 360 Replacing Agentforce?

The short answer is no. Headless 360 is not a replacement for Agentforce. The two are designed to work together, and they sit at different layers of the same stack.

The clearest way to see this is in Salesforce’s four-layer model for describing the platform. Data 360 is the system of record that holds trusted business data. Customer 360 is the system of work that holds the workflows and business logic across sales, service, and every other function. Agentforce is the system of agency, which is how you build, deploy, and manage the agents themselves. Slack is the system of engagement where humans and agents collaborate.

Headless 360 is not a fifth box on that list. It is the way every box becomes programmable. It exposes the data in Data 360, the workflows in Customer 360, and the skills in Agentforce so that agents can call them from anywhere.

Agentforce remains the place you design, train, govern, and ship the agent. Headless 360 is the infrastructure that lets that agent reach the rest of the platform without a browser in the way.

Why This Matters for Salesforce Customers

For existing Agentforce users, Headless 360 expands what your agents can reach and where they can run. Skills built once inside Agentforce can now be invoked through MCP from Slack, mobile apps, voice channels, or third-party assistants, without rebuilding the underlying logic.

For developers, it means that platform context, your customer records, open cases, SLAs, and relationship history are now available directly inside the coding tools your team already uses. The build loop tightens, and agents inherit your existing permissions, sharing rules, and approvals rather than starting from scratch.

What Should You Do Next?

If you are already running Agentforce, Headless 360 is an opportunity to extend your existing investment. If you have not started yet, the combination of Agentforce, Data 360, and the new MCP tooling lowers the cost of getting the first useful agent into production.

The right move depends on where your team is on the journey, which skills you want to expose first, and how you plan to govern agent behavior as it scales.
