The Salesforce Summer ‘24 release notes and schedule have been announced, and we now know when to expect the biggest admin updates of the year. With the schedule starting in May and ending in June, now is a good time to review the top admin updates and changes to look out for.

When Is The Salesforce Summer ‘24 Release Date Schedule?

As confirmed by Salesforce earlier this year, the Salesforce Summer ‘24 release date schedule includes the following weekends:

  • May 17, 2024
  • June 7, 2024
  • June 14, 2024

Salesforce is allowing users to prepare for the big update by checking the Maintenance Calendar to see when their Salesforce org will arrive. This will depend on your instance, and Salesforce users have been encouraged to check theirs by scrolling through the list and checking – NA and EMEA – against those listed in the calendar.

You can find out more about the best features of the Salesforce Summer ‘24 release by reading more about the top admin updates below:

Einstein for Flow & Formulas

Salesforce’s Einstein for Flow introduces a generative AI tool to automate workflows with text prompts. You can describe your automation in plain language, and Einstein will generate a draft flow. It provides intuitive explanations for formula calculations, detects errors, and suggests improvements. This feature aids in understanding complex logic using user-friendly language.

Benefits:

  • Offers step-by-step explanations of formula calculations.
  • Detects potential formula errors and provides suggestions for correction.
  • Enhances productivity by simplifying formula creation and troubleshooting.

Einstein for Flow assists Salesforce admins in building automated flows using Salesforce Flow Builder. It provides AI-driven recommendations, predictive models, and intuitive resources for creating efficient flows.

Benefits:

  • Einstein Article Recommendations: Enhance flows with smart responses.
  • Einstein Case Classification: Automatically classify cases and assign them to relevant queues.
  • Flow Formulas: Utilize advanced logic and calculations within flows to streamline automation.

Set Conditional Visibility for Individual Tabs in Lightning App Builder

Administrators can now apply conditional visibility settings to individual tabs in the Lightning App Builder, similar to how visibility is managed for other components. This feature ensures that specific tabs are accessible only to authorized users based on the rules you set. It also means each tab’s visibility can be controlled based on record data, user roles, or device types, allowing for a tailored user experience. You can configure visibility rules directly in the tab settings.

Create Rich Text Headings in Lightning App Builder

Enhance your rich text with new styling values like Heading 1 and Heading 2 in the Lightning App Builder’s Rich Text component editor. A new dropdown menu simplifies the selection of these styles for improved formatting.

The Automation Lightning App

The Automation Lightning App provides a comprehensive view of all automation-related activities, offering access to flows, errors, and community links. This centralized hub is the first of its kind outside the Setup menu, offering a one-stop solution for all automation needs.

It also offers quick access to recently updated flows and those with errors, along with powerful search capabilities. To enable the app, go to Process Automation Settings in Setup and check the “Enable the Automation Lightning App ” box.

Field History Tracking

A new Field History Tracking page in Setup lets you easily manage tracked objects and fields. This feature provides a clear overview of the number of tracked fields before changes are made, offering more control and transparency.
